Business transfer/takeover coach for ICHEC's Families in Business Chair, launched in collaboration with EPHEC. Close to the field, the results of these coaching sessions will feed into the Chair's future research.
This project is part of the activities of the Chaire
and developed in partnership with EPHEC. Its aim is to raise awareness of the subject of business ownership, offer a training cycle to help understand the transfer/takeover process and the issues involved, and support transferor/takeover pairs in their efforts to ensure that the transfer/takeover is a success and goes as smoothly as possible. These services are aimed at two target audiences: potential sellers and buyers of family and non-family businesses.
Context
Taking over a business is also entrepreneurship. And yet, business takeovers are often overlooked by the general public. And yet, every year, thousands of businesses are up for takeover. These companies generate both economic value and jobs for our region. If there are no buyers, they risk closing down, resulting in the loss of jobs, knowledge and economic wealth.Needs addressed
The need to better understand the stakes involved in the transfer/takeover process. We prepare upstream and accompany the parties involved in a transfer/takeover through the various stages, so that they run as smoothly as possible.Expected results
Raising awareness of business succession among over 200 people, and assisting over 60 people a year with their business transfers.Financing
