Since 2022, ICHEC, in collaboration with EPHEC, has launched La Maison du Repreneuriat, a meeting and training space dedicated to the business transfer and takeover process.
Through events and training programs, the project pursues four objectives:
- Raising awareness of the importance of business transfer and takeover in the Belgian economic landscape.
- Helping transferors and buyers understand the challenges of the transfer/takeover process.
- Preparing and training participants.
- Connecting transferors and buyers with industry experts and other transferors and buyers.
Context
Taking over a business is also a form of entrepreneurship. However, business takeovers remain largely unknown to the public. Yet, every year, thousands of businesses are available for takeover. These businesses generate economic value and jobs in our region. Without buyers, they risk closure, leading to job losses, loss of expertise, and economic wealth.Needs addressed
(1) Highlighting business takeovers as an alternative form of entrepreneurship.(2) Providing a roadmap for the key steps to prepare for and complete a successful transfer/takeover.
(3) Creating a space for exchange between transferors and buyers to better understand each other's challenges.
Audience :
- Anyone interested in entrepreneurship through business takeovers.
- Business owners considering transferring their company (whether in three months or ten years).
- Families that may be involved in the transfer process.
Expected results
Raising awareness of business takeovers through the REpreneurial meetings and the Boost Camp. Over the past three years, more than 800 people have been informed, and 80 people have been supported and trained.Financing
